One last note from the Google Classroom band packet:
This is a performance class. Concerts are considered as final exams. Band members are required to attend and play at each performance. Many families make concert nights “family nights” in honor of the performer. We only perform two after-school concerts, so please block these nights out on your family calendar and try to avoid planning conflicting activities. **Only a note or email from home can excuse an absence from a concert. The note/email must be received no later than one week before the performance. In case of an emergency, a note/email from home should be received as soon as possible but no later than a week after the concert. Voice mail messages do not qualify as written parental letters. A note/email does not automatically excuse a student’s absence. The instructor reserves the right to determine whether or not the absence is excused.**
Excused absences are illness (student is absent and/or quarantined from school the day of the concert) or a serious family emergency. All other absences are considered unexcused.
Looking forward to seeing and performing for you on May 3rd!
