Rooted in Purpose, Rising with Curiosity
As we begin this new school year, I’m reminded of the deep connections that make our school more than just a place of learning; it's a community with heart, history, and purpose.
I’ve proudly served the J.O. Combs Unified School District since 2002. When Ellsworth opened its doors in 2007, I had the privilege of being here as a teacher, helping build the foundation of what would become a truly special school. In 2017, I returned as principal, a full-circle moment that reaffirmed my dedication to this community and our shared vision for student success.
One of my most vivid memories is of my son, one of Ellsworth’s very first students, bouncing through these hallways, full of excitement and wonder. He loved learning. He asked questions. He explored everything. Even now, he continues to learn with joy, curiosity, and courage. He doesn’t let others define him. He charts his own path.
That’s my why.
That same love for learning, that same determination to grow beyond what’s expected, that’s what I want for every student who walks through our doors. I want our Eagles to leave Ellsworth not just with knowledge, but with confidence, curiosity, and a deep belief in themselves as learners and leaders.
This year, we will continue to build classrooms where students feel safe, inspired, and challenged. We will celebrate progress, lift each other up, and rise together - as a team, as a school, and as a community.
